As storms pass they may be frightful and fraught with uncertainly, but give thanks. Even when there are storms of confusion, the palm reminded us as it’s branches wave – Give Praise. “And you will always give thanks for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.” Ephesians 5:20.” A huge crowd of Passover visitors took palm branches and went down the road to meet Him. They shouted, praise God! Bless the one who comes in the name of the Lord…..”

Born and raised in South Baltimore this painting takes me back to my childhood. This was my playground, my place to explore be adventurous and pretend. I could be a soldier, captain of a ship or one of my childhood heroes. My back yard is on the left with the flag pole. My grandparents, great aunt, uncle and cousins backyards were on the right side. I always felt safe and surrounded by love. I hope this city scape will remind you of great times in the city.

Finished painting, what a great journey. I can remember walking around looking at the reconstruction of the stadium and seeing all the pieces sitting around waiting to be put together. Opening-day for the O’s Karen and I walked over to see what it would be like. We ended up getting the 8 dollar tickets and walking around and exploring the stadium. They had some history of the O’s and some spring training fun. I never thought I would be here. The feeling of the place makes me feel connected to something new. My idea of Spring Training has changed. People travel and spend time getting closer to the team and the game. We live across the street from the stadium and see folks that come and stay the whole time that the team is here. It is a wonderful experience and enjoy the community that develops. Enjoy the painting and lets see what is next on my journey so I can capture the moment. Yes He is always with me . In my past, now and in my future. Enjoy in joy, G
The Point

Started painting (The Point) about ten years ago. My motivation was based on my friends at OLGC. I tried but could not finish, it just wasn’t time.
I pray that I present the painting with love and hope for all. Every time I worked on the piece I prayed for those abused and affected that God would comfort them and know God loves them.
I took the photo (2004ish) and others for the images of the churches in our neighborhoods. Knowing that I can add or remove things in my painting, I was just focusing on the church buildings. Years later I revisited the photos, as I looked it jumped out at me and felt a need to paint the image as is.
The images in the foreground represent a human loss. (fresh grave) The street sign (school children crossing) is the grave marker. One old cone and two new. Past protection fell over, (it did not work)hopefully the new ones will. The cones are there with the sign to remind us to look out to protect our children and grandchildren.
Today we have to keep moving in our lives, however we must remember so not to forget to protect the children.
Sending love and comfort as I pray for everyone.
